It all started a month prior when I noticed I wasn’t going [urinating] as much as I did and it progressed. The week before that, I ended up in the hospital I was noticing that I was just peeing much less. I thought it might have just been infection or something like that, but even up to two days before I went to the hospital I realize it I was trying to go every 30-40 minutes even to the point where I would wake up in the middle of the night and I would go just enough to relieve the pressure off and then I would try to sleep in 40 minute increments.
The night before [the hospital] I was talking to girlfriend and she said its probably a urinary tract infection so I called your office made an appointment for the next day. And what happened was around midnight I was in so much pain I thought okay I can work through this. Then at 4 in the morning, I had slept for about 30-40 minutes I woke up and I was in so much pain in my back my stomach I can barely walk. At that point I get my girlfriend up to go to the ER. I was just trying to do dribble anything out I can get. I actually carried a cup in the car just in case of that issue and I end up in the hospital.
I end up in the hospital and they check my urination and they said I didn’t have an infection we need to do a CT scan, which was absolutely most painful thing I think I’ve been through to be stretched out on that table. They came back and said, we’re going to put a catheter in you and I was like why, they showed me to scan, and my bladder – which I have a scan of, I don’t know how many times larger than it would have been normally — but they told me that they pulled out 6 lb of urine out of me!

Also called prostate gland enlargement — is a common condition as men get older. An enlarged prostate gland can cause uncomfortable urinary symptoms, such as blocking the flow of urine out of the bladder. It can also cause bladder, urinary tract or kidney problems.
The severity of symptoms in people who have prostate gland enlargement varies, but symptoms tend to gradually worsen over time. The size of your prostate doesn’t necessarily determine the severity of your symptoms. Some men with only slightly enlarged prostates can have significant symptoms, while other men with very enlarged prostates can have only minor urinary symptoms.
How has the UroLift treatment affected your urination and erectile function since the procedure?
“… I know that my bladder empties every single time, full stream. I actually call it the backup test you know how can you how far can you go back to sleep and still get the toilet which is the stop by, then but it’s interesting enough your stream is so strong that I actually literally have to step back from the toilet I think my stream is so strong and in you know that’s amazing”
How about Sexually?
You know that was another thing that was concerning anytime anybody’s going in there you’re always concerned about what they’re going to do to you. I noticed even a little bit of better sex drive. My sex drive was always there but you always worried as we get older that you’re not going to be able to get fully functioning. I did notice that I had a good response to my erections and how they felt. They just felt a little bit stronger. They felt better. And it was a nice surprise too!
